Nathan Wickham-Hurd
Founder, Oak Growth Global Limited
I'm Nathan Wickham-Hurd, the founder of Oak Growth. Every valuation, score and analysis on this site comes from the methodology I built — and I'm the person behind it, so it's worth saying who I am and why I'd trust these numbers myself.
My background is in finance. I studied economics and banking and graduated with a first-class degree — my dissertation, graded an A, examined stock market indexes and commodities, the very markets Oak Growth now covers. I went on to complete an MBA, then joined Bloomberg, working in tech infrastructure, where I came to know the Bloomberg Terminal inside out and saw first-hand how professional investors screen and analyse companies — not with fifty ratios and a wall of jargon, but with a handful of numbers that genuinely move the needle.
Why I built Oak Growth
Most retail investing tools do one of two things: overwhelm you with data you can't act on, or oversimplify to the point of being useless. I wanted something in between — a screener that applies Warren Buffett's investing principles consistently across global markets, shows its working, and tells an ordinary investor what actually matters: is the business strong, is it cheap relative to what it's worth, and is the timing reasonable.
That's what Oak Growth does. It screens roughly 1,000 hand-picked companies across nine markets against four pillars — moat, value, financials and management — computes an intrinsic value via discounted cash flow, and scores each company so you can see at a glance where it stands. The full method is documented openly on the methodology page.
A note on independence
Oak Growth is an analysis tool, not a financial adviser. Nothing here is a personal recommendation. The value of investments can go down as well as up, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and your capital is at risk. The point of the tool is to help you think clearly — the decisions are yours.
